crust artisan bakery – santa rosa beach, FL

It’s funny. Thursday was our night to get dressed up nice and go out for a romantic (and expensive) meal. We allow ourselves to do it once a year. We look forward to it… But this year it didn’t happen. We were tired, like seriously tired from being out and about all day. All we wanted to do was get some food and bring it back to the hotel room. We were feeling pizza, so I got on my phone and found Crust Artisan Bakery, which was near the hotel and was supposed to be pretty good.

Honestly judging by the name of the place and the descriptions on the website, I expected this place to be, well, bigger for one thing. And I expected it to be a little fancier. As you can see from the pictures, the space is mostly kitchen with a small, informal dining area. There is an outdoor dining area on the side, but we didn’t stick around long enough to check that out.

We ordered the Fungi (mushroom) pizza. Mushrooms, tomatoes, truffle oil… It was a little cold by the time we got to eat it, but it hit the spot.

I apologize that I didn’t snap a picture of the pizza. By the time we made it back to the hotel after picking up drinks and dessert at Publix, we were over it. We just wanted to eat. We ceased to be food bloggers, and simply became hungry.
